I was thinking about getting a six pack of "On-Stage" boom stands for $100, but that might not be the best Idea in the long run. I hear they break easily.

So what would you reccamend for Microphone stands? Like what the best $30 stand, $50 stand, $70 stand.

Are there any uses for a really cheap and rather unstable mic stand. Something that they could handle?

Thanks

Humm... no, not really.

Hang 'em from your porch and make a bad-sounding wind chime.

I like K&M stands for tripods, Atlas makes great round-base, and for a little less expensive stand some people here recommend Tama.

well i'm currently using 6 proline boom stands and 1 proline straight stand, and they are the cheapest ones guitar center has. the only time they haven't been good enough is if i try and put a really heavy condenser on while the boom is fully extended and horizontal (drummer singing).

I also paid like $14 for each stand (they normally charge like $30-$40 at GC) cos you can get those guys to sell stuff cheaper really easy. people just don't know to ask.

for $14 a stand they are definetly good enough (practically disposable too)and i havent had a situation where i couldnt do something a little different and make them work.
