Mic Stand

Ideally I don't want a boom mic stand - I want a straight stand with a round base.

However, I will be placing my mic about 24 - 27" off the floor - this is below the bottom height of most standing up vocal stands and about the height of most desk stands. Anyone got anything that would fit the bill?

EDIT: Sod it, I'm just gonna get a cheapo boom stand for 30 quid.

That's actually mid-price for a boom stand. The cheap ones in the US are about $20. OK for studio use, but for live use eventually the tightening mechanism for the boom, and the clutch for up-down get loose - plastic pieces.

I got one of these: Musician's Gear Low Profile Tripod Base Mic Stand Black | Musician's Friend and added a 12" gooseneck on it to mic up my guitar amp when it's on a stand. The tripod base is not very wide, though, so I can't bend the gooseneck too far before it unbalances.

That's actually mid-price for a boom stand.

With the possible exception of UK made high end amps and Chinese made effects pretty much everything is more expensive over here.
