Mic Stand

Neither the attachment that came with my mic or the one on my shockmount fit the stand. I did not realize there were differences. The stand is a large fit and the two I have are real small.

What can I do to fix this?
 
There is a small brass insert that threads out of the shock mount threads ...... then it will fit onto your microphone stand.
 
OK I must just be stupid. It seemed like it should come out, but I did not want to break it. Are there any tips to getting it out?
 
Yup a large screw driver or a quarter in the slot held by a pair of pliers does the trick.

And don't be afraid of breaking it, it will let go and then you can very easily then use your fingers to unscrew it the rest of the way.
 
Thanks! You have helped me avoid much frustration. I finally have all the parts and was upset that I might not be able to get up and running today.

No, not yet. I am in class right now, but what you said makes sense because I remember there being an indentation along the diamater that would allow for a coin to help remove it. I should be able to get it out later today when I go back to my room.
 
OK I got it. Thanks again! Tascam won't work though. Guess I'll make a topic about that now :(
