mic stand

Hi all. i'm new to this Forum i would like to take this time to say "hello to all"

I have a question about a particular mic stand that i'm currently looking to purchase but i don;t even know what is called to even do a search for it.

I'm looking for them mic stands that radio broadcasters use, you know the ones that get attached to the back of the table top with the mic arm that stands foward. does anyone one know where i can get one of these online.?

You know what...Ive seen those for like $100.00....ok, fuck that.

Do yaself a favor..head to a thrift shop, garage sale, or place that sells desk lamps, find the type of desk lamp that has that EXACT same arm that comes forward.
All you gotta do is unscrew the lampo head, and screw on the mic clip.

I found one for $3.00 at a garage sale, and it works just fine for a mic stand.

anyhow is a tempting idea to say the least,but seriously a friend of mime got the real deal on ebay a while a go and the arm wasn't as long as the one as the one that you just showed me.

I'll keep searching i guess,thanks for the laugh though
