Mic question for Harvey

Someone offered an original Shure 707 to me, says box and paperwork and was never used. My recollection of those was a harp type- like a Bullet, but I'm not really familiar. The guy also is offering a Gretsch 6161 combo 60's. I'm not even sure of what something like that/those would be worth. I checked the search here in HR but didn't find anything in the 'archives'

Would you share a bit of knowledge with either of these pieces? Does the mic have any uses other than harmonica?

Thanks so much!

well... it doesn't HAVE to ONLY be Harvey :)- I'd welcome anyone else's info :)

It's a cool, old crystal mic that might work well for kick, guitar amps, vocals, and harmonica. It goes down surprisingly low and it's kinda omni. It's very high impedance, so it works best running into a line in, or even better, a guitar amplifier.

It doesn't have a volume control, so harmonica players aren't as attracted to it as they are to the Green Bullet.

Thanks much- the guy said he wants $300, says he has the original box and paperwork. Not sure if I need a $300 mic right now, but seems like it might be unique and cool...
