Stop ridiculing Steve Lamansky. You want proof of his work? Check out this attachment. I'm telling you, he's like the guru of microphones.

Steve Lamansky's credentials 1

And here's the big one - "Bounce" starring Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow, with Steve Lamansky as consultant. I'm sure you'll find it at your local Best Buy or Circuit City. I urge you to purchase it and watch it at home with your home speaker system. This is Steve at his best, which is 500 times better than you amateurs.

Right On!!!!!

I am truly dying over here. Mantis, how about some testimonial MP3's from famous people extolling Mr.Lamansky.
for example,

Colin Powell: "Mr. Lamansky is like, the guru of microphones." "Oh yeah, by the way, all your base are belong to us."

I hafta admit Mantis, that that attachment is brilliant. Obviously Mr Lamansky must be a force to be reckoned with in the microphone industry. I take back everything I said about him. :)

I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED THIS THREAD! IT IS SO FUNNY!!

HEY MANTIS- That is fucking BEN AFFLECK with Gwen Paltrow in that movie you dumbass! He edited the name, but not his face. You MUST be FT!

Yes look to the left and you will see newbie under my name but I have been involved with music, sound reproduction and recording long enough to know that standard or nonstandard = box = pull your head out of it. As far as Blue Bear and Harvey ganging up on you don't say something stupid and they wont have too. There is not an opinion on this site that I would trust more then the two of them. Now with that being said in my opinion, opinions are opinions. Are there rules in music or merely suggestions? Music or recording theory is nothing more then suggestions that worked for someone when they tried it before. Try it for yourself and see what you like.

Harvey, please keep posting. Your input is very much appreciated.

Karaoke ???? I'm tired of typing.

I'll keep trying. Hopefully, I'm thru with the initiation portion of this site. :) I wouldn't wanna ever go thru that again.

Of course I guess it would help if I didn't get too excited. Hopefully then I would realize there are more then one pages to the post. Anywho, no harm, it's still applies.

... The whole thing is kind of frustrating though. It just seems to get in the way.

Don't worry. It was a joke, but it wasn't funny.

to tell the truth, it depends.

I had 2 friends doing rap vocals for a song. THe pop filter was set up about 6 inches from the v67 and the singer about 2 inches from the filter.

On singer no .1 , it sounded briliiant. NO need at all for eq.

on singer no.2, it sounded thin. So we redid no.2 from about 3 inches away and VOILA
