mic preamps and line in jacks

I'm doing a very small, low budget (ie - getting paid nothing) gig for a friend where we'll be laying down some simple guitar and vocal tracks. I will most likely have (and I'm sure battling to get to work right) the Audiosport quattro running on my laptop. Now, the audiosport quattro, as far as I know, simply has line-ine TRS jacks. As far as I'm aware, I cannot connect microphones directly into these jacks (Can I??). I'm going to be using 2 AKG C-1000S condenser mics (which have the option of running on internal 9v batteries).
I'm wondering if there's any way to connect my C1000's directly into the quattro without buying expensive mic preamps. Normally I just use a large mackie mixer which takes care of it, but in this case I won't have access to it as I need my setup to be as minimal and compact as possible.
Ideas?

about the cheapest youll get of is $79 for a Midiman Audio Buddy preamp, 2 channels.....you will have to have a preamp of some sort between the mics and the Quattro......

my friend who i'll be recording will also have a regular old tascam 4-track machine - can I somehow use its mic input(s)?

I know this is lame, but it needs to be quick and easy, and I don't have time to go out and buy a mixer before then (it's next week).

You could probally use the mic inputs in the tascam. It won't sound really clean, but it should work. You will need one/some cord(s) for it though. I am guessing a stereo rca (to plug into tascam output) to 1/8 stereo (for your soundcard input). Hope this helps.

I know it's a terrible work-around, but it might have to suffice until I get a new mixer. He was just gonna just use his 4-track machine anyway, so what I'm doing is at least somewhat better.
