mic preamp setting...

after a lot of experimenting with a pair of sony ecm-22p's and a pair of behringer mic 200 preamps, I've been able to get a wonderful acoustic guitar sound with the preamps set on "valve"......other settings on the behringer are named electric guitar, vocal, acoustic guitar, piano, etc......what does "valve" mean?

Tube - as in vacuum tube. The sound probably has nothing to to with a "tube" sound - it's just marketing hype. Use the setting if you like it - it's probably an equalization preset.
