dunno if this is the right area for the question but here go's,
top of my budget is 500...at first i was determined to get the maudio octane to maxamize my delta 1010lt....but now im thinking of just getting a soundcraft e12 and using the inserts as outs to the delta....i can get the octane at 488(pricematching from studica.com via musiciansfriend.com and therefor getting free shipping)..and the e12 goes for about 400 even.. any advice???
thanks too all in advance

oo...quick addition...also found a used souncraft m8 for like 500...is it worth it...so quick recap

octane-8 ch preamp 488?

soundcraft e12- 12 preamps...inserts as outs- 420?
or
soundcraft m8- 8 preamps- direct outs 500?

-jake

thanks!

That price is a little high for a used M8. I bought a used M8 on E-bay for $350 about 5 months ago in perfect condition. For $500 you might find a used M12 on E-bay. I love the preamps on the M8.

I've got an Octane, and love it. Besides the obvious 8 channels of mic preamps, it has two great sounding independant instrument preamps, M-S stereo mic'ing matrix, ADAT lightpipe and analog outputs, and LOTS of clean headroom. The price you found for the Octane is the lowest price I've seen... mine cost me $549.
