Heard a rumor !
Can or does a mic pre amp help with the sound of a nasal or strainy Voice ?

I don't know why it would....! Tyipcally, a mic pre is designed to put out what you put into it, sometimes with a bit of color.... but I've never heard the "color" to be a de-nasaler!!!

Some 'boxy' sounding mics can make a nasaly singer sound more nasaly. So I guess a a certain mic pre could make that sound worse but I doubt there's a mic pre that can eliminate that sound.

if you have that big a problem try using effects ala the band skinny puppy.
distortion/Flange and choruss/ something to take you away from the fact theres a problem with the singer. a great pre will just make the nasel sound more clear.

I feel a better singer is needed. I was in a band back in the 80s
that many record companys were interested in. we had a pretty
big following and the singer was the perfect front man (But)
on tape he was'nt good enough and after two years of almost being signed. I quit because our management company dropped
us and the leader was the singer so I so no hope. this singer also
had a nasel voice but the girls loved to look at him.
