There are a number of things that would mak eyou want to hang your mic upsdie down, like tube heat dissipation, seeing lyrics sheets, getting singer to breathe more correctly etc.
But, in terms of getting a non-tube condensor and flipping it upside-down, there will be no difference in performance.
