I have a Shure Beta 58 and I have just discovered my sweetspot when it comes to singing live , I find if I sing so the mic is almost a touch below my mouth , I find it picks up the resonance of my voice.

Thats just me has anyone else found the same thing?
or is it different for everyone.

Did someone else tell you it sounds better or are you yourself judging this while playing live?

I sing straight on pretty close with a sm57. Used electravoice for years before that.

There's usually a sweet spot where voice & mic sound good together. Think about it from a recording point of view- people don't often record with their lips right against their mics.:) Whether it's practical for a given live SR situation, well, that's another story.
