What can I do about the mic picking up the track from the headphones. I really want the vocals as cleans as I can get it.

MY SETUP IS:

AudioTechnica 4047SV mic. w/Popper Stopper
Digi 002 w/ Protools LE.
Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro (Compressor/Gate/Preamp/Reverb)

Also,.. What does A switchable 80 Hz hi-pass filter and 10 dB pad on my mic do?

Sounds like it is time to invest in some quality headphones..

I'll second Scott...

as simple as this. Good headphones.

So it really just comes down to the headphones? I mean im using Black and Whites.. What would you recommend for a decent headphone that wont esacpe sound.?

Any closed ear type will keep the playback in the cans.

hmm.. not sure what a Black and White is either lol.. I 4get who makes it.. its just the model name. But thanks anyway for the feedback. I guess no one know what the switchable 80 Hz hi-pass filter and 10 dB pad is right?

Me and Track Rat both answered you in the other thread you posted with the same question.......

Hey I heard that the "Extreme Isolation" keeps 29 more decibles from bleeding into your song while tracking, and they are also good for tracking loud instruments in the same room while mixing.
They are very quiet while tracking even at high volumes.

Extreme Isolation at musician friend for $99.

Check them out.

Thanks for the help. @Everyone.. Im gonna look into those Extreme Isolation.. I rather just buy whats good.. even if the MoreMe's are good.. I dunno.. Its just my bad luck.. Thanks again

check out the AKG K 271 Studio.

this most probably what you need.

it's got a frequency response of 16-28K Hz which is gooood.

also, the AGK K series phones are knows for their accurate sound.

Volume...

As others have said, sealed, closed back phones are the way to go. However, if you're turing you're volume way up and singing near a sensitive condensor, then there will be some bleed through. Be careful about the volume of the phones, for your ears as well as for a clean recording.

If you are really picky about picking up headphone noise in the mic, you can pick up a pair of shure E2 in ear pieces. I think they run $80 and if you are scared about getting other's ear wax in your ears, they have disposable ear thingys on them.

Not just any closed back phones will stop bleed. I have some Yamaha RH model closed back and they bleed like crazy. I don't use them for tracking anymore. Better stick with some that are generally known to be fairly bleedless like Sony 7506 or Sennheiser 280s ......... I know that the Sonys do a good job.
