Mic mod question

If you want one of the Oktava mod mics or other modders .... do they have mics to sell or do you have to buy a mic and send it to them?

Some times both, but mainly the latter and you just have it dropped shipped to the modder.

Have you looked at sites like Oktavamod.com to see the terms?

Yea. looked at the Oktavamod site. But must be missing something. Going back and looking closer at terms.

I have had two mics modded by Michael Joly at Oktavamod. It's quick and painless. They schedule your mod date far enough in advance for you to ship it to them. They mod it and ship it right back. Last year you could buy Michael Jolly mod kits for Oktava 012's on Ebay. Opened the sound up like you wouldn't believe. I also did a pair of Apex 205's, great stuff. You won't regret having the mod done, Michael's a f-ing genious.

The microphones that I have had modded by Michael are now in a class by themselves.

But you still haven't stated which microphone that your looking at.

I just had a look at his web site.
Based on one of the reviews, I put a bid on a mic in E-bay which interests me.
If it turns out to be a bummer, I'll get M. Joly to modify it.
