I have a MTX 1550 4 channel pre-amp mixer that Ive been trying to get working all day. Well it works but my mic will not record any vocals or sounds. I have a line coming from the output on the mixer to my sound cards input but still no sound. I have to use my SHITTY plastic mic to record off my keyboard and it just pisses me off. Is my pre-amp bad or do I need a slap in the face? Please let me know

NOPE...... Didnt work

Well Alchuck, I followed and faild, maybe I have a bad sound card or mixer. Or it could be the$40 RadioShack mic, My input is checked and my track is armed. Oh well Ill think of something thanks for your help

What exactly do you have chosen for recording on your soundcard's mixer? What does the input is checked mean? If you can record with the mic-in and not the line-in the problem is with the source you chose to record with either the mic or the mixer. Test them individually(through your stereo's line in or something similar) and if they work ok then head back to AlChuck's link and try again.

Is the mic a condensor mic? Does the mixer supply phantom power?
