Hi, I was wondering what you guys thought would be a good microphone to record animal (frogs) sounds in the wild. Something that is sensitive, durable and highly directional.

I have been looking at the Sennheiser ME67, but just wondering what people here would suggest. Thanks

ME67 or 66 is what seems to be the directional goto mic. Just be sure to have a blimp / zeppelin type rig since directional equals more sensitive to environmentals like wind and handling noises. And as I'm discovering, even the XLR connector is a wind vulnerability. Not an issue in a blimp since it's covered / protected.

AT4022's if you want less directional. I'm more of a fan of the non-directional myself. The ambiance (and less problematic sensitivity) makes OMNI mics more to my liking, outdoors.
