mic for acoustic and vocals

i was looking into geting the Rode Ntk tube condencer mic for vocals and acoustic.. and maybe a room mic or something is this the way to go? i need a clear bright sound for acoustic and vocals..im trying to get more than a demo sounding quality recording..my pre amps i have are Line 6 toneport and a firePod..im not really to concerned about my pres at the momment but the mic is what im concerned about i dont wanna make a mistake and buy something i dont need..my goal is to sound like a decent pro studio by the end of 2006. i think my recording and mixing skills need a little bit more improvemnent but i think i can do it! heres a link to one of the songs i did with a sm57 and toneport http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=2262 let me know what you think of it! but my main question is will a that rode Ntk mic do me any good and help me alot with the quality? thanks

i'm pretty much a beginner, and I have a toneport ux2. the only thing I notice about your acoustic is that it doesn't have much highs at all (not sure if that is what you were after, i assume not since you said you wanted a brighter sound). how did you record the acoustic anyhow? (mic, room environment, or did you go direct in through your toneport).

The vocals sound alright. The guitar is ick. Recording direct never sounds "good". Here's something I did the other day through a Studio Projects B1 and Behringer preamps.

I love the B1 on vocals and acoustic guitar. I've used quite a few other budget-priced mics and prefer the B1 to them.

I imagine the NTK would do a similar job. Most of the "better" budget mics will all do a fairly decent job.
