Mic attachment to stand

I have been reviewing the thread on mic clips without getting my answer. My posting there didn't seem to draw replies. Maybe I am not asking the right question. It does seem to me that there is a lot of confusion out there about what on the surface seems rather simple. So again I will try to pose my question.

How does one attach a mic holder to a mic stand if the holder's size is different from the male end on the stand? For example, a couple yrs back I bot a Nady SP-1 dynamic uni mic with stand. The mic holder's female end attached to the boom's male end -- no problem.

Recently, I bot a Nady CM-100 condenser omni mic. It came with a holder that had a female end too small to attach to my stand. The 'features' listed for this mic include 'mic stand clip (including 5/8" to 3/8" adapter).' I don't recall seeing an 'adapter' -- What would it look like? It sounds good -- What I picture is a short metal extension with 5/8" female on one end and 3/8" male on other end. If something like that exists, and I didn't get it or lost it, where can I go to get another one?

Am I right in guessing that the 'standard' size I seem referred to all the time on ads for mic stands and mic clips is 5/8"?

Finally, is there such a thing as a 'Y' extension with 5/8" female on one end and two males (one 5/8" and one 3/8") on other end? This would seem to be good idea for attaching, for example, one uni and one omni, to the stand.

I am a total amateur hobbyist home recorder so these questions may reflect that but any help you may suggest would be greatly appreciated. Right now I get by with rubber bands, velcro strips, etc.

Thanks.

There is probably a metal slotted insert in the holder. Use a coin or screwdriver to unscrew it.

The holder will now fit on your mic stand.

How near and yet so far. I want you to know I really appreciate you taking time to give me my answer. In 60-seconds, I had it fixed. Thanks again!

Ha! I almost went thru the same thing with a pair of small condensors I recently bought...........well it only took me a couple of minutes to figure out the clips have removable inserts.
