Hey!

I "inherited" a situation with the following mics:
Senn. e845
EV N/D 257B
Samson Q2

Anybody familiar with the qualities/debilities of any of these?

thanks

Hi,
I can give you one feedback on the Sennheiser E845.
It's a very nice sounding dynamic vocal mic, similar to a SM58, but IMHO with better feedback rejection. It's mainly used in live applications, but nothing stops you to try it for recording.

Never tried the other mics, sorry.

Hope this helps a bit

Cheers

Arthur,

Thanks for the info. It will help more if you tell me what IMHO means!

Hey, hows that Euro Cup going?

I have the EV 257, and it's a great mic for screaming vocals. Since it has such a great low-end response and can handle high SPLs, I also use it very successfully as a bass drum mic. Also, try using it instead of an SM57 for micing guitar amps; it's the same idea, but the improved frequency response gives a fuller tone.
