Ok, I got home and had to listen to illmitch for a quick laugh. All I can say on that is "awww damn" and not in a good way.

The darkness inside you

I dig your energy - - - You built that mic thing and that tells me you're gonna go somewhere if you keep with that energy...

Back off the mic a little. Recording level is way too hot. Do three or four mixes - - - each mix a different distance from the mic. Listen hard to what comes outta the mix.

That mic is VERY sensitive, and was meant to mic a whole room from a decent distance... Make sure the room sounds good first...

If you are gonna do raps about the dark side, don't imitate - - - create.

Just like Star Wars, the dark side comes from deep inside of your own unique emotions. Consumers of rap are just as often curious about any other hedonistic/venting culture as the 'thug risin outta the hood' scenario - - - Look at ICP for example.

Hope I dont offend anyone but this is almost a pardoy.
If I was actaully rapping it would sound exactly like ill mich (ha :D )

Two more songs for you guys in 2 mins

Youre incorrect about that mic. I almost have to yell into it to get a decent audio level. It won't pick up sounds from more than 1 1/2 feet away.

Normalize?

Check out the 'mic in' level on your audio control panel. Maybe you want to up it there first if it's not.... This should be a standard omnidirectional electret cartridge computer mic with a built in FET element. They are usually very sensitive. Maybe you have an old-ass audio card that doesn't provide the proper phantom power for it? Who knows.

Here's a parody-style rap I did way back in the day - - - Pimp flava - - -

Pimpin outta Portland

Since this forum's about recording - - - I recorded it on a BLUE Baby Bottle through a Behringer mixer preamp... Ran it through a cheap guitar amp on FX loop.

No, I'm not really a 503 North Side Crip - - - But I worked with this dude who claimed affiliation... Me, I'm not affiliated - - -

A good starter mic is a Shure SM58 - - - You can use it live too.

did'nt listen to a damn word i said, fool. back up off that shit and you'll be the next........ Ill Mitch. ha ha. could'nt resist. seriously, a pop filter disperses air so that it does'nt directly hit the mic in a burst. you'r not giving enough space between that drier sheet, or what ever the fuck it is, and the mic. you need about 6 inches. oh and learn how to keep the volume of your voice even and learn how to use a compressor. and get yourself a blue vest and a basketball.

Here's another - - -

Vocal mic - BLUE Baby Bottle
Guitar mic - Groove Tubes AM62
Bass - Direct
Electric Guitar - Direct
Drums - Machine
Preamps - Behringer Mixer

Tribute to SPM - - - Who last I heard is still on vacation - - -

Nobody Cares

Ha ha
I made it adjustable. I can place the mic up to 5" away. With that distance I barely get any audio. I use cool edit pro, and I up the volume after I record to the max.

did you try normalizing the track after it's recorded? if it is too noisy after normalizing, use the cool edit's noise reduction. i bet it would sound better than what you're getting now.

Rezikvova do you mind I give Mike Jones a copy of your remix? :D

Then I'd have to say your rap would sound alot better if you stood about 2 feet away from the mic.

Put that on a CD and I wouldn't piss on it to put out a fire.

Im not "dissin" his setup, im "dissin" his skill, or to be more accurate, his lack of skill. If I could be constructive instead of just an asshole, I would say that he should try to create music that fits his naturally given talents. I'm not sure what that is yet, maybe he'll find it one day, but i can GARUNTEE you that rap is not it. I'm white.. I LOVE Bob Marley. Do i sing reggae? Hell no. I wish i could, but i cant. But what i can do is get paid hundreds of dollars a night to play my acoustic behind a band and sing for alot of people.
