Hi there.
I've got a Mexican reissue duo sonic body (circa around 1993). And im struggling to work out what size neck i can put on it. Apparently originally this would have had a 22.7" , 20 fret neck....but others are saying it would be 22.5" or 22"......

does anybody know what shortscale neck i could use ?

any help would be most welcome

cheers

It is a 22.7" scale, and you may be screwed. Or at best have extremely limited options. No one makes them, and I mean Warmoth or USA Custom or anyone like that. You need another Fender neck. That was also the Squire Affinity, so there's one option. And maybe the Fender Mini Strat would work. You see the Mini guitars for sale all the time for $50 or so, making this the absolute cheapest option. If you had to move the bridge back a 1/2" or whatever, could you do it?

I couldnt do it personally but i may have a friend who could. Im considering taking it to a local luthier and seeing if he can suggest any commercially available necks that will definatley fit it......or have him make one i suppose.

I also want to check that it definatley is the mexican 90's reissue. How would one go about making sure? Just measurements ?

Thanks for your help so far

i have a duo sonic just like it. the scale is 22,7" (ca 575 mm)
however; for these guitars, a standard 25,5" strat neck fits and works with the placement of the brigde.
i've seen several examples on the internet of people making their mexican duo sonic reissues to full scale guitars.
but i kind of like this small guitar. it's really easy and fun to play!

i'm actually also looking for a spare neck for these mex duo sonics. if anyone got one for sale pls contact maltjik(atmark)hotmail(dot)com
