Mettalic Drum sounds

Hopefully someone will understand what I'm asking. What are some good ways or techniques for acquiring a really mettalic drum sound. To make the drums almost sounding like metal work being done if that makes any sense to anyone. If not, no problem.
 
Using scrap metal instead of drums is a good start. :)
Hey, it worked for me! You can get loads of different sounds from an oil drum. And dragging chains across a cement floor was a nice touch too!
 
Hit anything metal really hard. I have also layed various cymbals on the snare drum and hit away. If you have any "spare" cymbals around, take a sledgehammer to em...record that, and then you also have a very trashy china-ish cymbal that will be very "metallic"...
 
Process the recorded drum sounds through a flanger with very extreme settings, it can generate a metallic ringing sound if you get it right.
