Track fader at 'zero, in solo the bulk of the sig. (average) would hover around 'zero. If it's percussion obviously there won't be much body to it so you'd be looking for the peaks to be extending into the head room above zero. Read the manual. Headroom varries. Actually this is the case with all except sustained sigs, just more or less body.
That translates to 'Zero on the converter at around -18 to -12. It's not critical. Close counts. -18 to -12 is now the usable head room on that end.
