I was going to say thats not the smoothest playing, but if you are using a synth effect from a processor that will be why. The attack might be a bit too long to get smooth playing solos.
 
Yeah, and it wasn't designed for bass, but that has never stopped me, before!

Kainz, I only knew that because I checked lbanks site and all he's got are basses. Hundreds of them it looks like.

I must confess.. I did take 2 takes, the 1st part is take 2 and somewehere in the middle it turns to take 1. I did this with a rush, all mistakes there too hehe. But I think it turned to be okay afterall. Still there is clearly influences of my jazz/groove/blues style, but I think it isn't that bad at all heh. Check that around 0:45 riff heh, kinda weird for the song, but oh well :D.

Man, that is smokin! I love it! I would believe you play heavy all the time! So many terrific moments I wouldn't know where to start, great job! I wonder if I could perhaps use some more exclamation points?!
BTW the single coils are rockin! :D Seriously!

Very good lead Kainz. I think that pass at 0:45 was pretty awesome (kind of sound like some Saga stuff). It only took 2 takes, WOW.

Jack, nice melodic buildup. Very cool playing. The stuff at about 1:20 was spot on. Fit the changes way cool. Whole thing was very well done.

I agree about the length, 2 minute solos can be a little much :D ...oh well.
Cool playing though! And you kept up the pace just fine. I also liked the flurry of notes coming in at around 1:20! That was purdy bitchin' :D

I suck at improv and my first notion for something melodic like this would be to go for a more slow/harmonized sounding lead but since this is a "whole take only" type rumble, I obviously didn't want to start overdubbing and ruining the spontaneous feel.
This was my second take. I stopped at the 1 minute mark because im not the type to try and play 5 min solos, i was out of fresh ideas before 30 secs was up haha but oh well. I had fun while it lasted.
 
Tim ill take that as a compliment. I almost didn't post after hearing Kain's submission LMAO (no disrespect to other posters). His submission just flows so well, incredible playing , especially for a one off take.
