I recorded 4 songs for a metalcore band this weekend, this is the first one - kind of an intro meant to be the first track on their EP. This is a preliminary mix, I haven't listened to it in my car yet (I listen to so much music in my car, I know how stuff should sound there...)

Thoughts and feedback welcome!!

Just one listen tonight, but I think it's sounding pretty good...I'll listen again tomorrow, but I like it so far.....cool tune.

Yea, you might not be able single it out, but you should be able to hear what it is doing.....

My thoughts exactly. If there is a Bass guitar, it needs to be brought up in the mix to give it more bottom end. The toms should also be brought up to match the level of the snare and kick.

Other than that the mix sounds very good.

Thanks for the feedback guys..
I will make some adjustments in those areas when I get home this evening.

Anyone else hear anything that could use some improving in this mix?
Continued feedback welcome!

Kickdrum-smaple has a bit too much in the 8k-12k range I think.

There are quite a few timing/performance issues. Im sure you know this and not being in the band you probably don't care but for whatever its worth...This is an intro that would probably make me not want to listen to the album any further.
Most of the mix issues have been covered. Bass could come up and the snare/kick sound very disjointed from the toms. The stereo image on the toms seems kind of one sided as well. Other than that it sounds pretty balanced.

Sounding pretty good, and I pretty much agree with the statements already made. The first thing that I notice is that the toms are way too low in the mix and thin sounding.
