Do it right or dont do it
Hey there, I recorded this a couple of days ago. I'm learning to use ProTools so maybe you'll hear osme minor mistakes here and there (lol, punch in is great, but also tricky)
Well, in theory, a distorted guitar MUST be recorded with a EXPANDER and a COMPRESSOR. These physical devices are available in expensive (and Behringer) rackmount units. I was wonderign if there's a way to achieve the same effect using only ProTools. I tried the expander and compressor plugin available but it doesn't seem to work properly. Stop, I'm no saying the plugin will REPLACE the good old rack, just wanna know if there's a way.
For this tune I used this guitar rig:
Jackson RR3 + Metal Zone MT2 + Direct box + Mbox2 > ProTools
