metal song with new peavey amp

here is the lastest sample of my song. Im very happy with the sound Im getting out of the Peavey Valveking 112 tube amp. I want to thank every one for their advices. In this sample it contains the following:

2 mics (sm 57) on first session - panned hard left - rhythm guitar
2 mics (sm57) on 2nd session -panned hard right
drums centers ( audio technica pro 25 - kick, sm57 - snare, toms, and Audio Technica at2020 condenser as the Overhead mic) total of 5 tracks.

2mics (sm57) slightly panned 25% right and left - guitar playing melody

still need to lay down bass guitar tracks.

That lead in the intro is way out front and is less interesting than the background guitars. Bring that down a lot. The other guitars sound okay, I think. I think it'll come together during mixing. Not a bad start at all.

Guitars sound pretty good. I think they could stand a little more high end, if not a little more gain.

I would push the melody guitar back throughout the entire song. I'd like to hear the rhythm guitars driving the tune a little more.

I agree. The first thing I noticed when listening to that song was that the lead guitar was too up front. I would think about even cutting some of the lead parts altogether. I'll listen to it again and see what else I can comment on.

when that main riff kicks in(the third riff), I think there should be no lead guitar. The verse(part before the main riff) lead is cool though and I would definately keep that. Adds a lot of cool ambience to the song. I think it's a cool song.

thanks for the input guys. I played the sample in my truck and came to the same conclusion, pull down the lead guitar. How did the drums sound, especially the kick and snare?

I think the kick and the snare can use some improvment. Add some snap to the kick and so balls to the snare. And yes turn down the lead.

Yeah, not bad. I'm liking the drum sound, just maybe put em more up front. Kind of a late 80's death metal sound to them.
