(Metal) Another hell to pay song

so i got really over mixing that other song cause i just wasnt getting it right and had been spending way too much time on it and it wasnt going the right way.

so i decided to start on an entirely new track.. this one is called Open My Eyes.

I think everything just sits better in the mix so far.

What do you think?

Wow - I'm exhausted just listening to you play - pretty good stuff. Mix sounds good to me, with guitars and drums competing for center of attention. Nice clicky drums suit the style.

Hehe thanks ido, wasn't me playing tho. Its a friends band. The drums and guit aren't competing in a bad way are they? Anyone else care to also comment on the mix?

Nope - not a bad way....more like a duel where they are equally as important...

I would say that it sounds like it was tracked well, but the mix lacks beef. I like the clicky kick drum, but it needs more low end to match the click. The snare sounds a little far away, and I think the bass could use more low end.

I know you're not going for the exact same sound, but as a reference, there is a stark contrast between your kick and the kick that you can hear pretty clearly at the beginning of the first song on this site.

Your mix sounds good. I wouldn't mind more bass guitar, but I always want more bass.

Yea i've definitely been pretty conservative as far as low end goes cause i wanted to make sure the instruments didn't fight over that region of the freq spectrum and start getting muddy. I do agree that the kick could use some more low end. Scared to give bass too much more low but i suppose experimenting never hurt! Thanks for all the comments guys really appreciate it
