Does anyone have any idea how much a Mesa single rectifier (solo 50 series 2 for instance...) goes for new?

1k is what Idathunk

So I've bid on several which always go well above $900 + shipping, which is usually $40-$60 + insurance= what's the point in buying used?

So I called around a couple of places within 100 miles of me (all of 3). One place didn't answer, guitar center said they'd get back with me, but the third one pisses me off. Here's how the conversatin went:

Me: Can I get your price on a single rectifier solo 50?
Them: Single rectifier solo 50? I think I have 2 in stock, hold on....{ridiculous amount of time lapses}... yep I have two... they're $1200(and change).
Me: And that's the single rectifier?
Them: Yep.... err...no... wait a minute... that's the double rect. Hold on.{ridiculous amount of time lapses}... Oh wait... yeah... that was the single rectifier $1200 (and change).

WTF?
Does this seem fishy?
Does this seem overpriced?

Still Waiting for Guitar Center to call me back. Cockbags.
Looks like I'll be traveling to Chicago.

No thats probably actually pretty close for new actually. I think the trips go for 1800, duals go for around 1500 and singles go around 1200. Been looking for a single for a while and thats the price I always seem to come up with for a new one. That being said I did just inherit a dc-3 mesa boogie head, loud as hell and has a great crunch, thank god for friends who are desperate for cash.
