on the back of my mesa it has the bias switch..6L6 and EL-34..They said in the manual to make sure the the bias switch is set correctly to match the tube type..where do i change the tube type at? is that the valcummtube and silicon diddle switch? and whats the spongy and bold switch? i read the manual and i dont quiet understand it all the way..how should i match them together?

See those light bulb looking things? I think the Dual Rec should have 4 power tubes, so look for 4 big tubes that say 6L6 or EL34 on the glass. That is what the switch should be set for. You need to buy tubes before you go flipping that switch.

thanks!!! yeah i got it..i got the bias switch factory stocked with the EL-34 on..when i have 6L6 tubes..wtf? so yeah i swicthed it and wow what a diffrenece!!! i just hope i didnt mess up my tubes now..ugh..well its baout time for some new tubes anyways..

I don't think it will hurt it too much. I've heard of people running that amp with a different bias setting than the tubes are for. I have a Dual Rec as well...I've never done it myself, but I've heard about it.

A suggestion...if you're looking for new tubes, there's no better place than www.eurotubes.com. Bob is great and knows what he's doing.
