Nope, it won’t hurt or change anything. Your motherboard determines what speed the memory will run. That number is a max (derived) frequency at which the memory will run and stay stable. But you can put it in a slower rated motherboard (such as yours) and it will simply run a little slower. (...and probably more stable.) Like the max speed rating on a tire, for example, it still works perfectly as well at any slower speed. You just won't be using the new mem to its full potential. That's all.
Though, you should still check your manual for any other important details about upgrading memory. It may specify some special type.
