Memory Allocation Failed!

I get this message when trying to copy
files that are longer than 5mins using
Sound Editor (Adaptecs Easy Cd Creator 4,0)
I have a pentium III 500Mhz, RAM 128, Harddisc 20G, plenty of hard disc space left.
Should I change my virtual memory settings?
Currently I have chosen the option (Windows98): Let Windows manage my virtual
memory settings.
Any help would be highly appreciated!

I'm not sure what you're getting at with "copying" the song... Are you burning a CD? Anyways, don't mess with your virtual settings. You should talk to your manufacturer of the computer and tell them your problem. It sounds like a hardware failure somewhere.
 
Hunt around, and see if there's an option in Sound Editor to not use the windows clipboard... it has (or had) problems when large amounts of data are stored in it. Goldwave allows you to choose between its own clipboard and windows', other audio editors probably have similar options, or use their own in the first place

Is this happening when you're buring a CD or what?

Typically a memory allocation error means that there is not enough memory available to a process. However, on your system, lack of memory should not be a problem. Therefore I'm going to guess that the application you're using is old. That is, a Win3.1 application or a Win3.1 application that was modified to run on Windows95. For instance, I use an older version of Corel (that claims to be for Windows95, but is really just a glorified 3.1 app) and I frequently get malloc errors when scanning large images, even though I am not low on resources.

Are you burning a CD? Not sure what you mean by copying. If so turn off all background programs... screensavers etc.. hit control alt delete and close everthing but systray and explorer, then launch ez-cd.
 
Thanks folks! Yes the problem occured
when preparing Wav files for burning a CD.
Anyway I'm now using the Wave editor in
my sound card (SB Live! Platinum) and
no problems so far.
