(2) AKG D 1000e
(1) AKG D 200e
(1) Sony ecm 22p
(1) Beyer M500C
a couple of Behringer mic 200 pre-amps

The AKG D 1000's are cheap, old dynamic mics, but they have a great sound when recording acoustic guitar in stereo...

The Beyer has a wonderful warm sound....

....as you can see, most of my mics are pretty old....

I'd actually like to live as long as the number of mics that I own. I wonder if there is a causal relationship? The more mics I own the longer I live? :D

It's definitally possible. But if you sell one mic for $2000 and replace it with 200 ten dollar mics, does that add 200 years to your life? Doesn't seem quite fair...

Fair? What does fair have to do with it? As Woody Allen once said, "I don't want to achieve immortality through my art, I want to achieve immortality by living forever." or words to that effect. :D

Well in that case I'm selling them all and seeing what kind of mass discounts are available from Nady. I'd rather live forever with a million crap mics than die with a few decent ones. :D

LDC
1x Audio Technica AT2020

A common error, even those of us that own the at2020 make this mistake from time to time, but the AT2020 isn't a LDC, it's SDC or maybe MDC if you're generous. same capsule as an AT2021 pencil condensor. Same sound too, more or less (very similar at least).

Just looks like a LDC. This is one reason why it's so superior to "other" LDCs on things that traditionally sound best on SDC, like acoustic guitar and some single classical instruments and some aux percussion instruments.

IMHO, as they say...

Cheers,
Don

Only 3 right now..gonna get more soon:
