Check this out!

I've recorded it with Cubase, Yamaha MG 12, two Oktavas mk012 and Shure mics.

Guitar is layered five times.
Viola and cello are layered four times.

Vocal is recorded on Cad e200.

I hope you like it!

WSorry, I get a "media input is invalid" message when I try to play from the link.
BUT..
Are they real instruments?
How did you record them if they are?
Esp. interested in the 'cello as I'm still trying to come to grips with recording mine.

Sounds good.

A general rule of orchestration: try not to have the cello and flute play in Octaves at the beginning.

Overall sounds great, well done.

Yes I know... I'm not a composer of this song :) but it is a really huge mistake...

Rayc try to open it with another browser.
Btw, all instrument are real :) I've recorded cello with Oktava mk012. It's not a best mic. in the world but for this price is incredible.

To get the best sound try to find a hot spot. That will take some time but it's worth it.

I'm Confused?

I had to download and open in Wavelab to hear. I liked the instrument combination, I'm a sucker for cello and I thought you captured the instrument really well. I couldn't understand the vocal lyrics though and then the song turned into a song by Kelly Clarkson, that Gone song, how did that happen? Thanks for the listen.

played fine for me, sounds cool except I cant understand the lyrics :)

Sounds cool, the vox sounds eastern european.

good recording, heavy and the works..

nice job man

It won't work with Windows Media Player. I had to open it with VLC player. I agree with DavidK about having instruments playing octaves. I know you're not the composer, but I'd suggest creating a dark harmony voicing for the orchestral parts.

Other than that, the song's recording and mixing was pretty decent.

cool! when i first read the thread's title i thought 'oh no!!!' because this combination of instruments mostly comes out as music they play in elevators. know what i mean? ;)

but this turned out ok!! heavy enough on one side and with the classical instruments adding just the right amount of 'softness' (sorry but i can't think of the correct words : english is just my third language)

just one thing : i like the mix just fine but i find that the flutes and vocals don't fit in 100%, the flutes are too much to the foreground for one and they both ... i don't know, seems like theverbs have the wrong settings?

which amp/guitar/cab mic did you use for the guitars?

Sounds fucking ace m8 ;)

Tnx for reply guys!

Faderbug.. you were right about vocals... I must change reverb.
Flute it's meant to be in the front cause I don't want this orchestral feeling in that song. And classical instrument are very important in their band :)

For guitar I used 2 layers of Hughes & Kettner amp(4x12 vintage 30 speakers) and 2 layers of Mesa/Boogie mark IV (2x12 celestion G12K-100)

Guitar was Gibson Les Paul and I mic it with SM57 :)

What the hell Language is that?

Don't you know English is the official language of the U.S.A? ;-p

I think the recording/mix is solid btw.

I had to download it too. Then I played it in Adobe Audition.
I did not regret. This is some strong stuff. Strong in positive way.
When I was young I used to listen to Leihbach and I'm sure both them and Lacni Frans are sure proud of you guys.
Keep posting!

Wow sikter!
You know a lot about us... :) Where are u from ?

Appreciate you like the song.

Hello again! I was born in Bosnia, lived in Croatia for a while and now I'm working in Norway. There is vocal- instruments contrast in your song. A am sure you have wanted it to sound like that. I'm still missing more groove vocals there. That's of course matter of taste. Anyway your song was really refreshing my day. Where can I find rest of your musics?

This sounds great to me. I love the tone of the drums. The strings and flute are an interesting addition to this genre. It reminds me of Nightwish, but that's mostly the female opera-esque singer. My only criticism is the flute pops out a bit at parts and is slightly obnoxious at those times. Great work.

Hi

I like the song a lot. It's very original and well played. I like the mix of the guitars and the Cello/Violin. Very good vocals also.

Nice work.

/Jack Real.
