Mellow Song.

Hey everyone.

I recorded the instrumental to this a while ago and I almost gave up on this idea...but I recently made an audio preamp using the lm386 ic. So I decided to record vocals using the SM57 through it.

It surprises me how much it amplifies the signal without any distortion...its really amazing. I'll probably make a little case for it and use it on more stuff later on.

I'm sending the two audios: Recorded with the ic and without it...so you guys can tell me if there is any notable diference between then...even if is slightly. Of course, judge every aspect of the mix aswell.

Any info will be helpful.

Did you mix the IC version differently? In the Normal Version the left channel sounds louder.

Regarding the mix, it sounds good. The hat sounds a bit loud during the rests. The mix is open and natural. Sounds good, buddy. The solo is kind of funny -- reminds me of the Byrds (The Christian Life) a bit.

Hey, man. The only difference between the mixes are the vocals. I didnt change anything other than that.

I tried to go for a Harrison-like solo...I never heard The Byrds, lol.
 
TBH I liked the IC version better. The bass had better clarity as did the vox.
 
I listened to the IC version. I like the tone on your voice. Some borderline pitch problems tho.

I thought the bass and the guitars were all a little thin sounding. The mix needs some fullness. Kind of a Buddy Holly sounding guitar/bass mix.
