HI

MIDI drums are sounding very robotic.. and quite dull/routine in places.

Lots of pitch issues with the singing.

Song shows promise but you need to polish up those two aspects at least.

Good luck.:guitar::thumbs up:

Your tune is promising. Follow Arms advice, polish it up a bit.

Thanks, regarding the drums, is it just more variations in the beats that is needed?

What's the opposite of 'dull and routine'? Interesting and varied. 'Varied' means changing things up - you do that at 1.45, for instance - but another very cool way of changing things up is just to mute the percussion at certain points - everything opens up for a beat or four and the return to the percussion sounds good when it happens.

But the pitchiness of the vocal is the way bigger issue.

Another thing to consider is the nature of distortion you've got on the guitar - it would be interesting to hear the same part with less distortion - there's a bit of a disconnect between that much distortion on the guitar (which is often associated with genres like metal) and the very laid-back feel of your tune here.

I don't get to hear too much Norwegian rock. I think your country is generally known more for extremely dark metal...?

Anyway, I guess I mostly agree with a lot of the comments you've gotten already. I really like the riff that busted out at 1:53. That was a pretty cool change. I'm not a huge fan of the distortion on the guitars...it's ok, just kind of fizzy to me and not enough body maybe...

I think with the drums, you could get away with what is actually being played if you processed them a bit more and dirtied them up some. Play around with some extreme compression maybe, or even add some subtle overdrive or radical EQ to make them sound less canned. I dunno...just some thoughts.

Drums and vocals.
#1 - retrack & address the pitch issues.
Drums - sound too light & clean - like you've a deft jazz player in the session.
