As far as nits and crits one might be looking for here in the clinic--I've got none--sounds perfect!

I love it when you post tunes--it's absolutely motivating to me! Your recordings and mixes are absolutely top shelf, and musically, I love what you do. If there were one person here who was my "goal" musically--that'd be you. Thanks for sharing!

Loved the tune...that opening main riff is great! Nice arrangement, playing...and energy.

Nice song man, really enjoyed the listen. Loved the competing guitar solo at the end. Subtle yet to the point and then with an anthym ending, very impressed. Is your band touring? Are there more songs like this? Wait, I just found your other songs and listened to them. Very well done man. I enjoyed every song I heard. I'm just wondering, what is the next step for a guy like you? You present an interesting situation as a lot of people are looking to get just half as good as this, I'd like to think there is some hope, maybe if you told me you were at least talking to some big timmers, at least getting some heads turned. It is however personal and you don't have to answer. Thanks for sharing. Your tracks are inspiring.

Good stuff Gonzo. Great riffage and tight sound polished smooth. What a cool tune

ninja-
thanks man. glad you checked it out...

whitestrat-
i'm glad this is motivating! that's cool.
way better than making someone vomit.
LOL

jeff-
you know, that 'riff', came about very organically..

i tried to come up with a simple little lick, that i could use when trying out guitars at various music stores..

whether it was acoustic, or electric, there was something about that little lick that will bring out all the good (and bad) in a guitar...
how it snaps in the low end...
how it handles open chords...
whether the top end has enough clarity to let that little country double-stop thing at the end of the riff happen...

and i played it for years- just that one riff.

but then, i slowed it down, found that swampy groove for it, then came up with the lyric idea (which is stolen from the label of the Bat's Brew Hot Sauce i eat).......
once i had that, it pretty much wrote itself.

onestu3-
thanks so much for checking it out.
the band is just me, it's my vehicle for writing original tunes at this point.
i hired a drummer for this session, working off of previous demos.
you know, i have my people call their people all the time, they always say 'we'll get back to you'.
heheh

(remember that old song "don't call us, we'll call you"?)

bulls......hit......
thanks man. glad you dig it.

and here's the guitar i used.... '84 Carvin DC200K w/Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge.

whitestrat-
and that was probably for the solo tracks..

i like to use a good ole SM57 for rhythm tracks.
that mic, seems to always bring out the clarity of the midrange better, then i can mix the rhythms down a touch, and they're still easy to hear.
