Recorded to DAW and transferred to 8-track 1/4" tape (Fostex R8) and back to DAW. Another song with this treatment.

Started out as a live jam with DI guitar, DI bass and drums. Did bunch of automation to balance things.



I like the saturation tape gives although some clarity is reduced and there's this mid sheen over things that I find.

I've got an R8 too and have yet to experiment with bouncing out from my DAW to it and back again. What would you do differently next time?

Thanks for listening and for the comments! I spent quite of time editing that intro when not so used to doing synth stuff. Too many sounds to choose from lol.

I'd try to get some new tape instead of the old reel I used. Dolby C was on also so might try it off next time just to compare. And I've been searching for a demagnetizing tool to give the deck proper maintenance.
