Hi folks. First post. If this has been covered before, please forgive. I have a Tascam dp 004 and a hp 9000 laptop with vist home prem. Problem: I record the track. Export it through the wave option, (It's supposed to run it though the FAT partition at that time) Place it into "my documents" folder, disconnect the unit. Now I take the file out of the folder, put it into win meida player. I can burn a c.d. that the computer reads and plays but in a portable player, nothing. In the now playing list pane, I'll right click on the file and in propertys, it says in"no media usage rights". After many hours with tascam tech support, they can't figure it out either. The card is not corrupt and I've checked this setting, changed that format, a very exhaustive "one thing at a time" approach. I've been in some places that I really don't belong. (cab, sys32) I've changed every possible setting I can think of and I still get" no media usage rights". Which would explain why I can't burn a readable c.d. I get the a similar message on my pc. (xp pro) though, in quick play it says "cannot burn because files are missing or damaged OR I have no M.U.R" What am i doing wrong? Thanks: chris

Google "media usage rights". 10.5 million results.

Have you tried something else other than Windows Media Player?
