I use Steinberg’s Mastering Edition plugins to do some limited mastering on my own material. In the past, I placed the ME Compressor before the ME Loudness Maximizer. I read somewhere, however, that this should be reversed with the compressor coming last. When I changed the order of the plugins, the ME compressor was easier to configure since the graphical interface worked more intuitively at higher volumes. Does anyone have any experience with the Mastering Edition and the ME Compressor? What order do you typically use when placing the plugins under master effects? And, finally, any strategies for setting the frequency bands or compression levels/ratios?
