we were talking about this in another topic and i decided to make this post! i think this would be a neat way to have fun, and the bbs players can strut around and do whatever! i wrote this 10 track album i didnt want to record because i couldnt imagine the right sound for it, so i thought i'd just post each tracks bass part that i just made them all last night, i also did 10 a few weeks ago with just guitar parts, but i think its better with the bass parts. the guitars one sare too wild! so lets do it! just do whatever you want with it and the songs will flourish with all your individual touches. i think it'd be great if it happened!

i will do one at a time! here is the 1st one, and i'll put the lyrics up to to inspire the playing, either i will sing them in the end, or even it could be better if you decided to sing them!

this first one is called "I Don't want to fall in love again"

here is the bass track to build on!

I Dont want to Fall in Love Again.mp3 - 4.96MB

its something you can go wild on!

here are the lyrics :)

baby i tried once
and i lost the game
im counting on two
to promise you

tell me true it cant be the end
i dont want to fall in love again
better have a good reason
all the love i spent

i dont want to fall in love again
i dont want to fall in love again

everyone on the magic train
to see my baby go insane
im counting a lot
to see what i got

tell me true just what you meant
i dont want to fall in love again
better have a good reason
to change like a season

i dont want to fall in love again
i dont want to fall in love again

dont want you as a friend
i never want to fall in love again
because i cant defend
what you said

ok theres 9 others, but maybe we'll only do 8! it could be cool :) the next one is a beautiful windy ballad!

Oh my God! Jordan, thank you so much for bringing some beauty and innocence back into the game for me. Whatever you do, do not break character!

Jordan,
I don't know what you did to that poor bass - it's almost monotone wobble. The closest I can suggest is a large rubber band stretched over a shoe box. There no apparent structure or progression. You could at least give hints by providing chords or something. The lyrics aren't half bad but deserve something more that you've offered them.
Now, here you go: Propman has dashed off a song in double quick time BUT he's use some musicianship and recording skill as well as a melody to produce something that shows promise. It's a bit Ben Lee but the lyrics lead in that direction after all.
Use Props work as a template: clear tracking; a degree of knowledge and facility with the instruments used; melody; arrangements that agree and are in tune; as well as harmony and a mix that gives everything its place.
Props - excellent little piece and a perfect point made about how to go about this songwriting and recording lark.

So wait, Do you have the hotts for True?

hey prop man, it sounds the great! i actually think its your best work yet! i think you'll make a hit soon! i thought that song was a hit!

this was the second one i was planning to post.

2.Heaven has a spot for us(windy beautiful ballad)piano,drums, bass, guitar,woodwinds, percussion
now we are mountains
let it sink in
heaven has a spot for us
i'll see you again

now we are chimes
ringing in the wind
heaven has a spot for us
where i will hear you sing

heaven has a place
where i'll see your face
heaven has a place
where we'll have our grace

flying like seagulls
over the sea
heaven has a spot for us
just you and me

we'll be together forever
for all of our time
heaven has a spot for us
i'll see you again
youre heaven sent

heaven has a place
where i'll see your face
heaven has a place
where i'll see your face

maybe it'd be neat if someone would do this one too! and theres 8 more!

Yo. I wanted to tell you, I read the lyrics. I got a different tune in my head, and the bass part wouldn't work for it. I tossed this together. I hope you like it.
-Adam.

Adam,
You took that man's excrement and made something beautiful out of it. Unfortunately, he will now add his Casio-made bass line and claim credit for the song - he sells his crap on iTunes. Not that anything he's "exploded" out of himself has likely sold anything yet, but your work might. Please be careful and copyright your work.

Thanks Jordan. I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the inspiration.

Well, he did write the lyrics after all. I am not sure how to go about copyright anything though. I have looked, but I can't figure it out. And also, thank you very much for your kind words. It made me smile. :D

Jordan, this isn't just horrible. It could be salvaged. My advice to you (and take it with a grain of salt) is to take some time to produce your songs, and learn about production. Listen to your voice (as it is very pitchy sometimes) and try to level it out. That's all I got. Thanks again.

-Adam.

i noticed you didnt say 'on the magic train' you just 'on the train' i really liked the magic part!
Yeah, I noticed that after I reread the lyrics, but I thought it flowed better without it. After all, I do have creative licence.

Adam, a lot of us have tried to put some sense into his mind, but he just won't listen.......

And what you made with that piece of shit he "wrote" is absolutely fantastic!
Some have it, some don't...you have it, he doesn't.

But his threads are a great comedy source, I'll hand him that....:D

Well, one thing I have to say is he seems adamant about making music, and some of it is close to being ok, but I do find it true that he doesn't listen to anything said to him. Sometimes, I too am not sure if he is serious, but I just assume he is unless I find otherwise. Thanks for the vote of confidence though. I really appreciate it, and I am glad I have "it" sir. :D

hey! why do you put 'wrote' in quotations! i wrote it about my puerto rican girl! it means a lot to me! i'll show you all whats inside of me and my dreams!

So your Puerto Rican girl's name is True? and this whole time i thought you were hot for Eurt!

Well, you see Jordan, when I think of writing a song, I think of something with a bit of substance. And that doesn't mean programming your casio and blurbing something into a mic and then coming along thinking it's awesome. You're the only one who thinks so anyway, at least on this site. I don't know if you have demented friends who think you are awesome. When are you gonna tell us what exactly you record with, your DAW, your interface, your monitors, your preamps, your mics, (about the Casio we already know :D)?
Oh, wait, I don't think you have any of that stuff now do you? So it's just the Casio and a cheap computer mic?

...and yeah, you've certainly shown us what's inside of you and it's quite funny. The way you're going, your dreams will remain dreams forever, Mr Genius.

Keep posting, we love free comedy :D
