Well, I really wanted to go analog, but it seems most artist use computers and software. It's much cheaper too! But it's VERY frustrating!! Well, I looked on my PC and it looks like I have a Master Riptide PCI Audio soundcard. Is this good for Cakewalk Home Studio 9 and MIDI gear???

Also I went under my start menu(I have Windows), under Settings/Control Panel/ then Multimedia. Once I got there I looked under the MIDI tab and it said I have a:
1. Riptide MPU-401 Connector
2. Riptide WaveStream Synthesizer
and a
3. Yamaha OPL2/OPL3 Synthesis

Will this do for Cakewalk Home Studio 9 and my external MIDI gear? Please help!,
Andrew! :)

It'll work - but don't expect miracles. Much better to get a decent dedicated soundcard (I think the RipTide is an audio/modem combo...eeuughh)

The Cakewalk site has an excellent list of soundcards, complete with info on all of their features. They also have some pretty good recomendations there.

just thinking on starting to record on my PC with my POD. i´m thinking on getting creative labs soundblaster live! and guitartracks 2.
any advice?
