mbox and setup

I'm trying to get things set up to record my guitar. I pickup an origional mbox. So I hook it up.it hooks jovial usb and I have my headphones hooked into the mbox. But when I play my drum beats from the computer thru play thru my laptop speakers. How do I get everything to go thru the mbox. I'm running Windows 7 and the mbox shows up in device manager. I went into sound properties a.d my onboard soundcaard is listed but not the mbox. How do I get all this to work?

Control Panel>Sound. Select the mbox as your default device. You will need to monitor from the mbox outs.

The mbox isn't listed there but yet its in device manager with no problems and I have played my guitar thru the mbox so it doesn't make sense to me
