Hello,

Does the Pro Tools that comes with the MBox have effects built in? Will I be able to use reverb for example with out buying any extra effects units?

Thanks!

Adam

I use an Mbox system... very solid... It comes with Dverb which is an awesome reverb system. It also has many more plugins for getting good basic sounds. eventually you'll want to put some money into some Waves plug ins tho...

The downfall with the mbox is recording drums as there is only two mic inputs. What I am going to do is get a six channel mixer and pre mix the drums and then record them as one track.. I'm not sure how well this will work.. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them!

yeah, when recording drums the best way its to get a mixer and record them in 1 track :D

I wouldn't go so far as to call DVerb "awesome", but it is usuable. I like it better than the stock verbs in Cubase, at any rate. And the DigiRack has all the basics well covered. I was impressed to find that Digi's stock compressor plugin has a sidechain insert, too. Its a decent package and gives you all the staple mixing tools.

Take care,
Chris

Just curious, if you want to upgrade to Waves plugins with PT LE, do you have to buy a special format (not DirectX or VST)? As I understood it, PT LE couldn't use plugins in those formats. Thx :)

RTAS is the Pro Tools LE plugin format; Real Time Audio Suite.

I may be mistaken, but I thought the Waves bundles came with all versions (DX, VST, and RTAS) wihtout having to buy seperate ones. I'd double check with Waves on that one, but that's what I thought.

Take care,
Chris
