I think Sting's "Ten Summoner's Tales" is a masterpiece, musically as well as lyrically.

Unfortunately he seems to have lost his feeling for really good songs, as the latter albums are somehow weak.

I think the police stuff is way superior. Today is your day, it's October, summers gone. Anyone who names the song reference wins a free case of beer.

Ah Smirky...It's okay to post that here. You did mention "lyrically" in your post.
Agree-Sting is an all-around musician. excellent songwriter as well as player.
I too prefer the tongue-in-cheek syle he wrote with the Police over hos solo stuff, but he has just matured & changed gears, that's all...Still great.

I never liked the police and I never liked Sting. I dont
know why, just one of those things. I agree that he is a good musician and songwriter but I just didnt get it.
