I have a Firewire410 and Amplitude Uno and whenever I record something it sound very weak and thin. My question is can I run my guitar through a stompbox first, like a Boss blues driver, then into the input of the firewire to give it more power. Also, should have to use the gain on my 410 when using software amp simulation? Any replies would be appreciated. thanks

If you want to use Amplitube as your primary sound, you will need to get a DI box to convert the guitar signal to line level, that will help a bunch with getting a better sound. Yes, you will have to adjust the input level to be the correct level to get a decent signal out, too. The gain is just adjusting how much level gets sent to amplitube. It sounds like you aren't adjusting the input level at all, and that is what you need to do. Personally, I would go with the setup that nuemes suggested over Amplitube, but hey, that's just me.
