Yo Canopus! It sounds like you are afraid of the vocal. Mix it up, so you can understand the words. Whatever mic/pre/placement you used on the second guitar is very nice, try that on the first guitar as well. There are some rhythmic inconsistencies in the first guitar track. Did you use a click track? If you didn't, try that. If you did, stick closer to the click track. Good luck. Keep it coming.-Richie
Nice track and arrangement. I like the simplicity of this.
I might suggest doubling the left channel accent guitar and panning it opposite right to bring in more of a produced quality to the sound.
The vocals have to come way up in the mix and centered way more then the hard right pan you have there. Your voice sounds competent enough to merit the volume increase so, don't be shy.
Everybody hates their own voice, in my experience, it's only though some praise and encouragement, do people feel comfortable enough to stand them out and let them be heard.
I am going to sneak behind the speaker, the right speaker ... and slowly, quietly ... sneak up behind you ... and you will ... never ... know ... what ... I ... am ... going ... to ... do ....
because !
You are going to be in the center ... where all the stars should be.
I am really, really, looking forward to listening to you develop. You sing with an 'easy grace'. You play gently, and with artistic calm.
I know you are proud of this solid guitar track.
You should be more proud, and 'centered' with the vocal track.
Cool. Thanks a lot guys. I'm gonna work on it a bit now. I did the vocals at 1am, and I didn't want to disturb anyone so I sung quietly, but I did hide it a little (my speakers bring it out more though).
Richard- Thanks for the comments, I didn't use a click track, and I normally do, but I didn't find I made too many rythmic errors. Are there specific points or just a general "It speeds up all the way through" kinda thing? Thanks
The Ghost- Cheers. I'll try the suggestions you mentioned. Thanks for the vote of confidence in my voice
DrummChris- Ever considered becoming a comedian? I'll have a look around the house for a tambourine if I have one
Hmmm. My vocal sound is really annoying me. I've tried retracking the vocals, but it's hard to make it sound good with my "Videolink" SDC (battery run), going into the mic port of my soundcard without any preamp (oh yeah and my soundcard is the "AC97" thing that basically is meant to be able to make a few bleeps and thats about it ). I wish someone else could do it To me, the vocals sound quite loud, so I'm guessing my speakers are betraying me. Is it really impossible to make out the words?
I can't hear the vox at all. I think the guitar could be better with a rhythm besides the typical "down - down - up - up - down - up" strum. Vox needs to be louder and centered.
