Check it out. It's my brother singing. He asked me to record it for his GF. He's not much of a singer, so take it easy on him, lol. He really wanted to sing it for his girlfriend though.

Enjoy.:)

This is quite good, listening on laptop speakers though so keep that in mind.

I hear some clipping at 2:30 -ish, is this just on my end?

The guitar sound is nice, but theres too much pick in there for me, maybe use a softer pick or try to eq it out as good as possible?

Vocals arent bad at all, better than I can do.

There are some timing issues here and there but overall a very nice and genuine effort for his girlfriend:D

I agree about the pick noise, but it's not a deal-breaker.

If I had never heard the priginal, I'd have no beef with the vocals, because you have a nice voice. But you transposed it down 4 steps, which I don't like. It's just a personal thing, so others might not agree. But it's the vocals that make this song in the original, and brining it down, especially that many steps, makes it hard for me to get into it.

Nothing wrong with the performance, though. And, like I said, you have a very nice voice.

Not bad at all. I like the vocals on this very much. The only thing that kind of sticks out is it goes out of tempo here and there, and the piano kind of sounds cheap to me. If it is a keyboard, do you have touch turned on? Very nice cover.

Pick-noise isn't all that bad. Nice song and good voice. Nice panning.

Joe :)

It doesnt flow very well. The vocals are fine. Personally, I would stick the piano more center. Its a good recording, it just needs to keep moving a little more.:)

To impress his GF, this would probably be super for her. She probably wouldn't care about mix stuff.

But there was a little timing stuff. And Tempo and key changes sort of distract because the original is fairly well known.

My thoughts tend to echo those already made.

1 Timing is a fraction hazardous. Guitars are played to a click track, and I sense someone playing, listening for the click, rather than comfortably riding with the kick.

2 Piano on the left is distracting. Like wise the acoustic lead on the right. If anything, spread the rhythm guitars further out and leave room in the middle for the melodic bits.

3 Overall I thought the guitars were too upfront, and too dense in relation to the vocals.

4 Vocally the song is okay. Nothing startling, but reasonably tuneful and a good bit of character in the voice. However, I detect an inhibition in the singing. I guess he doesn't do that much, right?

5 The overall arrangement sounded a nit disjointed. This could because it was done to a click which then was silenced. However, I think the track would benefit from some fluidity.

6 It's a Beatles cover. I love listening to Beatles covers.

I like the acoustic guitar approach to this cover...I think it would even work better without the keyboard . I like the vocals...you did the song your way and for me , it worked well...I enjoyed it. Nice job!

This was Wings wasn't it?

Nice job on this. Pretty sparse and way mellow, but that makes it your own. I don't know that the piano adds much sonically although there is an expectation that something will reproduce those little melodic lines during the gaps, so...

The singer did a fine job. Not as impassioned as I expected, but it should achieve the desired result with the GF. :)

I didn't even read this before listening. I just clicked on the link. I wouldn't have been so critical about the key change, etc., had I read it first. I was wondering why everyone kept referring to his girlfriend. :D

Now I get it. It's great and I'm sure she'll love it.

seriously this was pretty good, im really likin the voice, theres some potential in it. i like its characteristics alot. Sometimes the mix had slight timing issues, but i felt that the louder pick and the loud reverb gave it a live performance type sound that i really liked! serious good job, hope ta hear more from him

Thanks everyone.

This is a bottom end keyboard that I just plugged straight in to the computer. It's also the first time I ever even tried PLAYING a keyboard... I just tried to find whichever notes fit and play them, so take the performance for what it's worth lol.

Thanks again.

Hmm, I guess its good for what it is. Nice job.

However, the original is one of my favorite ballads of all time, and its really kickass....

you had to transpose it AND you had to go into a weak falsetto AND double it?

oh well, i couldnt do the original, thats for sure.

i like the pick noise!

im sure the gf will love it.

nice :D

Well, not really. It would have been a Beatles cover had they stayed together a little longer.:D

I stand corrected . . . however, a Beatle is a Beatle even if they are a Wing.

Yes.

Not that many of the solo tunes aren't great as is. But, unfortunately we can only fantasize how great they'd be if they were done by the Beatles.
