Im just getting into the softsynth thing, cause right now I cant afford a 20 year old Roland Juno 106. I actually found a pretty cool synth called the Tau Pro from muon-software. Is really good for low pads. and for $20 I think its a good asset to have. Let me know if you know of any cheaper synths available.
