ay im thinkin of buyin the nova fo sum raps... i want my shit 2 sound real professional... any experience with this mic?

it sucks... look, if you want professional results, spend less time on choosing mics and more time learning how to mix... nothing will get you a professional sound more effeciently than good mixing skills... I use a V67G and a V63M with a VTB-1 preamp and as far as sound quality no one can tell the difference between it and major artist recordings... you dont have to take my advice, Im just trying to save you a bit of money...

Can't argue with truth there. I know that I've worked with different mics but it doesn't mean anything if you can't mix your sound properly.

This is an area I myself will spend more time working on, since I get perfectionistic about my vocals and beats.

here, I took the time to get some information for you from various websites... all these comments come from other rappers:

musiciansfriend.com reviews for the V63M:

"I purchased this mic about 2 weeks ago. It has work perfect. Has a nice low end sond to it especially when it warms up. Although It does has a little hiss to it(which might be the XLR cable) its nonthing that a little noise reduction cant fix. This is my first condenser mic but it works way better than the DYNAMIC mic I was recording on. VERY MUCH WORTH THE ***$"

"I was skeptical at first about purchasing this product because of the price. This mic was a great investment. Anyone who is serious about their recording but does not have alot of money to spend then they definatley need to pic this up. My sound quality improved 100% and I still had a little money left to buy some accessories. I own two now and I think I will purchase two more."

"I work with hip hop vocals mainly and if that is what you intend to do with this mic you cant go wrong. This mic is a powerful tool for home studios or beginners who might be on a budget. Check out some of it's work at my website."

"This microphone is very good for home recording. It has great quality and is well worth the price."

There were plenty more, but I wont add them all...

Comments on the V67G:

"marshall mxl v67g sounds surprisingly good for hip-hop. A friend of mine uses it on rap vocals and it sound classy."

again, I could keep going, but I wont.... honestly though, if you are just a beginner to recording, I'd be willing to bet you wouldnt tell the difference between any $100-$200 mic... it takes a long time to train your ears...
